Western Association of Venture Capitalists Hosts VC Legends Roundtable to Examine Investment in Todays Business Climate and the Future of Venture Capital

MENLO PARK, Calif. The Western Association of Venture Capitalists (WAVC) will host a VC Legends Roundtable for the venture capital community on Wednesday, April 15th at the newly-opened Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel in Menlo Park. Sequoia Capital’s Michael Moritz will moderate a discussion with six of the venture capital industry’s earliest pioneers—men who literally created the venture industry in the late 1950’s. The roundtable will include:

    • Arthur Rock, Founder of Davis & Rock
    • Don Valentine, Founder of Sequoia Capital
    • Dick Kramlich, Founder of New Enterprise Associates
    • Reid Dennis, Founder of Institutional Venture Partners
    • Bill Draper, Founder of Sutter Hill Ventures
    • Bill Edwards, Founder of Bryan & Edwards
    • Moderator: Michael Moritz, General Partner of Sequoia Capital

Participants will share their views on the challenges and opportunities young companies face in today’s business environment as well as their perspective on the past, present and future of venture investment.

“A handful of individuals laid the groundwork for Silicon Valley to become the global epicenter for entrepreneurship and innovation, providing not just the working capital but the guidance to help startups to reach their full potential,” said Paul Holland, WAVC board member and general partner with Foundation Capital. “During this difficult economic climate, much can be learned from these original venture investors.”

WAVC’s VC Legends Roundtable takes place on April 15th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at the Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel in Menlo Park. The roundtable will be followed by a cocktail reception. This event is for WAVC members only and tickets are $75. For more information or to register, go to www.wavc.org.
