  • Oil Purification Systems Raises $2.5 Million in Funding, Announces New CEO

    June 9th, 2009 No comments

Funding enables company to expand product offerings and provide increased support for growing customer base

SHELTON, Conn. Oil Purification Systems (OPS) (www.ops-1.com), the leader in fluid cleaning technology, announced today that it has secured $2.5 million in funding from Atlantic Capital Group, Sterling Passive Investments, RDA Ventures, LLC, USA Fund, LP and Connecticut Innovations. The latest round of funding will enable OPS to further expand its product offerings into existing and new industries, and provide increased support for its growing customer base. Additionally, OPS announced that Greg Slawson has been appointed as the company’s new chief executive officer.

OPS’ family of fluid cleaning products virtually eliminates the need for routine oil changes by removing the solid and liquid contaminants from engine oil. OPS’ products help fleet owners save thousands of dollars in routine maintenance costs and extend equipment life, while also reducing oil waste. While the OPS-1 onboard fluid cleaning system was initially tested and proven for the trucking industry, OPS has expanded its product offerings to benefit other industries, including waste management, oil and gas, construction and mining. Additionally, OPS’ efforts in environmental sustainability have been recognized by the National Association of Environmental Professionals with the award for 2009’s Best Available Environmental Technology.

Before being named CEO, Slawson previously served as OPS’ chief operating officer. He has more than 20 years of automotive industry, consulting and software experience, focused on the supply chain and logistics management. Prior to joining OPS, Slawson was vice president of automotive solutions for Global Logistics Technologies (G-Log). He has also held a variety of positions at Ford Motor Company, Visteon Automotive Systems and Deloitte Consulting. Slawson is a recognized leader in supply chain logistics, a regular speaker at industry conferences, and has authored numerous articles.

“OPS’ products continue to gain acceptance in a growing number of industries,” said Slawson. “This latest round of funding enables us to increase our efforts in developing even better products in the future that will help our customers and potential customers save more money in oil maintenance costs, while also decreasing the negative effects that oil waste can have on the environment.”
