  • G2iG Leads $5.5 Million Investment in Series B Funding for Morphlabs

    July 15th, 2010 No comments

Based in El Segundo, California; Morphlabs is a cloud computing company which has announced that it has just secured $5.5 million in series B funding lead by G2iG (Global Gateway Investment Group). At the same time, the company also announced that it has also appointed Satoshi Konno as the president of the company’s Japan operations. Other investors who participated in this round of funding include Frontera Group and existing investors CSK Venture Capital Company and AO Capital Partners, Ltd. Proceeds from this funding round will go to finance the company’s ongoing development of its unique cloud computing platform to help enterprises with cloud service providers.

Morphlabs is a company that provides businesses with a flexible cloud computing platform to provide flexible services to their clients. Morphlabs key to success rides of its flagship product, the mCloud product line, which is comprised of market leading cloud computing resources that enable service providers and other IT industries to provide a platform for high performance applications and software services.

The funding comes on the heals of Morphlabs success in its mCloud Controller which has gained quite a bit of market traction due to the demands it meets for service providers in both the United States and Japan. In response to the current market demands, Morphlabs has appointed Satoshi Konno to be president of the company’s Japan operations. As president of Morphlabs Japan operations, Mr. Konno will help drive the Japanese markets to adopt the Morph-powered cloud computing solutions in both the public and private sectors.

According to Mr. Konno, the cloud computing market needs a viable marketplace with competitive services for it to take off. Competition is key to success allowing the customer base to be able to choose from different services and cloud computing platforms and make a profound decision which one gives them the better value for their dollar. Mr. Konno also adds that he welcomes the opportunity to work together with Morphlabs and Mr. Konno also stated that he has confidence that Morphlabs has a product that will empower many companies and other service providers in Japan.

According to the managing partner of G2iG, Martin Lichauco; the platform that Morphlabs is delivering is the first to turn cloud computing into a commodity that can be tapped into on demand by businesses of all different industries. The company has shown that it is able to execute by empowering Japanese service providers to deliver public cloud computing services. Furthermore, Morphlabs mCloud system has already experienced exploding market growth in US markets.
