  • Skyrecon Systems Raises $6.5 Million Round B Investment

    March 13th, 2007 No comments

SkyRecon Systems recently announced that the company has finalized its second round financing of $6.5 Million, led by Ventech and ACE Management. This second round of fundraising will support company development in the United States of America.

SkyRecon realized its first round financing of 3 million euros in the summer of 2005. This first round of fundraising was realized by ACE Management for three of their investment funds, and enabled SkyRecon to accelerate its growth by expanding its presence in the EMEA.

“SkyRecon Systems offers important growth potential. The company maintains a recognized technological advance and this second investment carried out today proves the accuracy of our initial choice.” Gilles Daguet, Investment Director, ACE Management.

Beginning in 2004 with the marketing of StormShield, its behavioral-based technology flagship product, SkyRecon has strongly positioned itself as the forerunner in the endpoint security market. Maintaining from the very start that the endpoint represents the weakest link in every organization’s network, and by offering effective, innovative solutions to make this vulnerable information access point secure, SkyRecon has led the way to a new marketing segment. Today the StormShield Security Software Suite is deployed within the largest European organizations.

“More than 100 large European accounts have chosen StormShield to secure their endpoints. This solution represents a technological breakthrough which allowed us to bring an unexpected level of security to the market compared to the traditional existing solutions,” says Ravy Truchot, President and CEO, SkyRecon Systems. “This fundraising will enable us to accelerate our ambitious international development to become a recognized player in the global IT security market.”

SkyRecon has already confirmed its leading position in the EMEA. This second round of funding will be used primarily to support the company’s development in the United States. SkyRecon has thus opened its North-American headquarters in Silicon Valley. The company also continues to finance its R&D efforts to maintain its technological advance and continue offering its innovative technology to this new market.

“SkyRecon fulfills all the criteria that a capital investor expects from a strong, young company with potential: a focus on the security market which is in strong progression, prestigious customers, partnerships with major global players like Microsoft and Juniper, and an outstanding revenue growth associated with a professional and industrialized approach. This very young company has all the characteristics of a future large company.” Eric Huet, General Partner, Ventech.

SkyRecon Systems is the European premier software vendor of endpoint advanced security solutions. SkyRecon’s mission is to ensure business continuity for each employee, ensuring data and applications integrity and reliability on each client workstation, being sedentary or nomad. SkyRecon thus offers all means to protect any organization against theft, loss or corruption of critical data caused by viruses, hackers or non compliant operations. SkyRecon’s StormShield protects proactively PCs from system hijacking, information theft and user disruption caused by unknown viruses, hackers or unauthorized operations. SkyRecon’s customers include leading corporations and non-profit organizations in every sector of the economy, such as Aegis Media, Agrana, Aviva, Crdit Agricole, Daher, Durex, GMF, FN Manufacturing, and French Ministry of Finance, Henry Schein, Lazard Bank, London Borough of Enfield, UK Office of Government Commerce. SkyRecon has sealed several partnerships with key global players and is sponsored by Microsoft.
