  • BridgeCo Raises $6 Million in New Financing

    February 26th, 2009 No comments

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. BridgeCo (www.bridgeco.com), a leader in networked entertainment technology, is announcing the completion of $6 million in new financing. All of the company’s existing investors participated.

“The unanimous support of our existing investors, coupled with the steady march of our design-win activity with global brands, is a strong validation of BridgeCo’s strategy and technology,” said BridgeCo CEO Gene Sheridan. “In the very near future every radio, stereo and audio system will have a network interface and BridgeCo will be the backbone technology that drives many of these consumer products. BridgeCo has already shipped more than a million units of its networked audio processors, and currently supplies over half of the world’s global brands that manufacture networked audio products.”

Demand for BridgeCo’s products is accelerating since the launch of its latest JukeBlox technology platform, announced last year. The JukeBlox platform combines the industry’s most integrated networked media processor with an industry-first Linux-based Software Development Kit (SDK) aimed at streaming digital music in the home. In addition, the technology offers a complete, ready-to-manufacture module to speed customer development time, and a new software application layer that offers a very compelling and intuitive consumer experience. The technology platform combines access to over 10,000 Internet radio stations and the ability to wirelessly stream PC-stored and iPod content anywhere in a home networked environment using DLNA and uPnP protocols. JukeBlox incorporates a full-color graphical, intuitive user interface and supports popular music services like Pandora and Rhapsody. This combination delivers unprecedented music selection to the consumer in an easy-to-use and compelling manner.

With the introduction of the JukeBlox technology, the company has attracted a fast-growing list of leading consumer electronics brands that are adopting BridgeCo technology. The company has added Pioneer, Harman Kardon, and JBL over the past year, in addition to on-going programs with Denon and Philips. Other major brands will be announced throughout 2009 as their products come to market.
