  • NGP Energy Technology Partners Leads Undisclosed Dollar Amount in Series D Funding Round for LedEngin

    Based in Santa Clara, California, LedEngin is a company that produces high quality components of LED lights and lighting fixtures. LED lights are special tiny lights that require very little energy and produce large amounts of light. The company announced today that it has closed its series D funding round with NGP Energy Technology Partners leading the funding round. Other investors who participated in the funding round include the company’s existing investors, the WK Technology Fund, Partech International, and Horizon Ventures.

    The proceeds from this funding round will allow the company to have the financial resources that it needs to fuel its rapid growth and meet the growing demands of its customers. According to LedEngin’s president and CEO, David Tahmassebi, with NGP Energy Technology Partners joining our list of existing investors, LedEngin is poised to succeed due to the fact that the partners at NGP have the expertise and knowledge in many energy industries and have deep connections to the energy markets. Mr. Tahmassebi further added that having NGP on the company’s board of directors is a great asset to LedEngin.

    According to NGP’s principal, Brad Barton, LedEngin has an amazing management team that has a track record that is proven and their strategic plan is focused and compelling. The investment that LedEngin has received from NGP Energy Technology Partners will allow the company to excellerate its growth in the energy markets and will also enhance the company’s already outstanding reputation in the marketplace and ensure that LedEngin will continue to bring out its innovative products into the market. As part of the funding round, Mr. Barton will join LedEngin’s board of directors on the behalf of NGP Energy Technology Partners.

    LedEngin’s product is a collection of bright LED lights that can shine with the light of over 2,000 lumens and can be reliable lighting for industrial and household uses. LED lights can be the new wave of environmentally safe lights because of its high luminescence and low energy consumption. Some of the LED lighting components that LedEngin already has available commercially include 30 to 40 watt lights in white, deep colors, RGB, RGBA, deep red, dental blue, far red, and ultra violet.

    Founded in 2005, NGP Energy Technology Partners is an investment firm that provides equity funding for growth capital and for buyout transactions for companies which are in all sectors of the energy industry. NGP primarily invests in the oil, gas, alternative energy, and energy efficient technology markets. Some other companies in NGP’s portfolio include DynaPump, GeoDigital, Great Point Energy, Satcon, Southwest Wind Power, and others.
