    May 29th, 2011 No comments

Based in San Francisco, California, Resilient Network Systems is a company which is security and networking company, has announced on May 25, 2011, that it has secured $5 million in a series A funding round led by Alsop Louie Partners, an investment firm in the San Francisco Bay area. Other investors who participated in this funding round include other individual angel investors.

One of the many innovators in the security and networking industry, which has popped up in Silicon Valley, like mushrooms after a rainstorm, Resilient Networking Systems has shown to be a top model that has attracted the investors in this funding round.

The company provides top quality servers which roll all the key features of the world wide web in one system. Email, the internet, and protected sensitive data can be a dangerous mix if the security is not there. The vision at Resilient is to integrate all these systems together and make the sending of sensitive data securely through the internet safe and sound. In the past, using the world wide web to transfer private or sensitive corporate information, such as trade secrets, marketing plans, and other sensitive corporate data was risky. Many enterprises were looking for servers that could provide the optimum security of transferring sensitive data without worrying about hackers getting access to this data. This is exactly the vision of Resilient Network Systems.

The types of servers that Resilient has works in three layers of security. These layers are the Access Server, Trust Broker, and Identity Broker. With these layers, enterprises can rest assured that their sensitive data is safe. The Access Server works by defining policies and publishing applications and data to the network. The Access Server is basically a Java-based server which provides a simple, yet a consistent API for effective delivery to all kinds of different operating systems.

The Trust Broker evaluates and routes trust credential requests and checks that only authorized people enter the system. The last layer, the Identity Broker will verify identities of employees and other authorized personnel.

According to Stewart Alsop, founding partner of Alsop Louie Partners, the success of Resilient is a core in the partnership’s portfolio. Mr. Alsop further went on by stating that what makes Resilient so successful is that it builds the core technology of the future of the internet — the Evernet. This basically means that as society is becoming more connected to the internet, likewise business will want to be online also. The major barriers that have prevented businesses and enterprises from going fully online in the past had mainly to do with security issues and the safety of sensitive company data, such as trade secrets, patents, and intellectual property. With the technology that Resilient provides businesses and enterprises, many of these barriers have been removed and many businesses are now feeling more comfortable to have their networks on the internet. The multilayer security features of Resilient’s servers have also made it safer to make transactions online and thus many online merchants often use the technology that Resilient provides.

Alsop Louie Partners is a venture capital partnership between Stewart Alsop and Gilman Louie. The firm primarily provides early stage capital to entrepreneurs who promising technology and business growth in the tech and healthcare industries.
