Alliance Venture and Investinor Take $1.5 Million Stake in Company’s Advanced DIY Mobile Conversion Technology

NEW YORK, May 2 – Mobile technology startup bMobilized today announced a Series A round of funding of $1.5 million from two established European early stage venture capital firms — Alliance Venture and Investinor. The New York City-based company has launched an advanced do-it-yourself web-to-mobile conversion solution for small and medium-sized businesses.

bMobilized’s cloud-based technology lets SMBs instantly and inexpensively convert any website into a customizable HTML5-enabled mobile experience optimized to any mobile device, OS and browser. Its proprietary and customizable technology can convert websites in any of seven languages. Both Alliance Venture and Investinor specialize in privately held, early stage technology companies seeking to expand internationally.

“Nine of ten small business websites today do not have mobile sites that work across the increasingly complex mobile ecosystem,” observed bMobilized CEO Ben Seslija. “Our technology makes it simple for businesses to accomplish this once daunting and expensive task.”

The business case for a service like this is clear when one considers that people now spend more time in mobile apps than they do online, and by 2015, American consumers will transact an estimated $115 billion in goods and services via their mobile devices.

Under development for more that two years, bMobilized’s patent-pending technology produces a mobile experience that better reflects the original website’s graphic look and feel — with more functionality — than any other mobile conversion technology available today. The ACI (Automatic Content Identifier), which contains more than 300 algorithms that analyze and detect all parts of a website, converts any web URL into an HTML5 mobile version in under 30 seconds.

The technology also offers more than 30 individually customizable features that enhance mobile engagement, e.g., a contact bar, maps, social sharing buttons, product promo window on home page, etc. bMobilized also makes it easy for companies to promote and market their products and services via Google AdWords, QR Codes, and in-app ads.

Finally, bMobilized’s conversion technology is inexpensive and requires little or no maintenance. The mobile site it produces automatically syncs up with the company’s website whenever the website is updated – at a cost of $5 a month, including setup, or $9/month with ongoing customer support.

The company was founded in 2005 in Oslo, Norway and relocated to New York City in 2010 where it currently has 14 full-time employees.
